    Cool Regroup accounts

    Hi guys !

    New SugarCRM user here.

So I have the Community Edition.

What I'd like to know is : how to regroup accounts by a category, for example their industry.

I'm been desesperetly trying to find a way to simply put somewhere the CATEGORY for an account so I can sort them by that category (ex : Business in the AUTOMOTIVE industry, or in the REAL ESTATE industry) and I just can't find it ?

I've been searching around a lot and one answer I've got was that the team module would do that for me, but I don't even think it would, since I don't have STAFF in TEAMS that are associated with specific industries.
We just have one team taking care of different business types and I really want to set a field to identify this category.

    I just can't imagine that it's not possible !!

    Please help !!

    Thanks you !

    Oh yeah : I forgot !

In the account fields, there is a drop down list for the industry.

    however

    1) It's a drop-down list kinda not so useful - but if it were only for that reason, it'd be ok

    2) can't find that field in the LEADS options.... so that is really unconvenient !!
(and not even in the CONVERT windows !! even less convenient !!!)

    So : any idea ?

just make your own field throe studio and add it to search view, so you can type what records you want to show for example from industry etc.

    Alright that really rocks !!

However, one question : I couldn't find where I can modify the CONVERSION form.

You know, you when you convert a LEAD to an ACCOUNT ?

I'd like to edit that !

First off, you don't modify leads to accounts, you modify leads to contacts and in the process are allowed to create an account. Subtle difference there, but it means a lot as far as implementing it in sugar. Secondly, this can be found in Studio->Leads->Layouts->Convert Lead. Although, the modifications allowed in studio are somewhat minimal. But... if there are fields with the same name, they should automatically copy over.

Maybe there's a thing I'm not getting but the only elements I can see under

    STUDIO > LEADS > LAYOUTS

    are the following :

    • EditView
    • DetailView
    • ListView
    • QuickCreate
    • Sugar Dashlet
    • Popup
    • Search

So I don't see a CONVERT LEAD item.

Please let me know where I can find it !!

    Thanks
