Reinstalling SugarCRM

How would I go about reinstalling SugarCRM 4.5.1a and migrate my data?

I have been upgrading SugarCRM for some time now, probably since version 3.0. I have also installed some modules that are no longer installed do to problems. Is there a way to reinstall SugarCRM 4.5.1a and import my data without the new install knowing anything about the previous upgrades and module installations?

I can't seem to get the Upgrade Wizard to work properly and the Module Loader is displaying an error from a module that I tried loading a long time ago but which is no longer installed. My thinking is that if I could reinstalled the software from scratch and migrate my data, I may be able to eliminate these problems. Is there information stored in the database that is causing these problems (i.e the upgrade_history and versions tables)?

Additionally, is there any documentation describing how to recover from an upgrade or module installation that does not go well?

If my data has been converted to SugarCRM 4.5.1, how can I reinstall SugarCRM from scratch and then use my current data. Since my system has been updated numerous times, is there anything in the data that would have to be modified to work with a clean install of SugarCRM?
