    Default Relationship an customized modules

    Hi,

i've just set up sugarcrm 5.0 community edition.

My goal is to manage deliveries to clients.

    1. I have a set of releases of a product.
    2. Each release has attributes like name, description, a certain date attribute.
    3. I have a set of contacts that i have delivered the product to.

I now want to see a list of all deliveries. I. e.

    John Smith: Release 1.0: test
    Michael Jordan: Release 1.1: licenced
    Patty LaBelle: Release 2.0: licenced
    etc.

    For this my approach was:

    1. custom module "releases" with all fields
    2. custom module "deliveries" with fields and 2 relationships
    a) relationship to contacts
    b) relationship to releases

So far so good. The only problem is: In my deliveries list view i can't see what's the release and who's the contact, because these fields don't pertain to the "deliveries" module, but to the related modules.

How can i achieve a more explicit listview like the example above?

    Thanks for helping.

    Hi,

    thanks for the version information.
I kind of helped in that sense, that i could adopt a different approach now:

    With CRM 5.0 i could't create a "relate"-filed, that relates to a customized module.

    With 6.1.4 i can!

Therefore i did away with the relationships. Instead i created a relate field in my deliveries module that points to the releases module.

I have a follow-up problem though. I will post it separately.

In short: When using the system (not building the modules) i can select the release in my deliveries module.
But: When i perform a releases search in the popup i can't click on the release found to eventually select it.
