removing a button

Does anyone know of a way to remove, or at least disable a specific button in SugarCRM? The specific button I am looking to remove is the "Merge Duplicates" button.

Heya,

i did it by editing in the vardef.php, but i dun think this is a upgrade safe method.

You can go to your respective module vardef.php file and set the 'duplicate_merge' to false.

So essentially you are saying if I do this, I would have to change it back if I wanted to upgrade to a new version?
