Replicating Activities and History Subpanel in Custom Modules

I can display calls, meetings, emails. notes and tasks as individual subpanels. I need a similar grouping of these subpanels like the one found in Accounts where these five subpanels are combined into Activities and History subpanels.

Since I can display each subpanel in detailview, does it require that I should also have a vardef and relationship for Activities module?

How do we create a collection of subpanels?
