Reporting is broken

I looked and could not find a fix. I really dont even know where to start.

I have a base install, i created some leads, opportunities, accounts and contacts. Some opportunities have turned into "closed won". Others are open and etc..

I tried every report under "add sugar dashlets" yet all the report dashlets say "no data available". I checked and everything is right, dates and so forth are also set in the appropriate reporting.

I need help trouble shooting this, point me in the right direction please.

This might be a permissions issue.

The dashlets use data in the /cache directory to generate the output. I've seen various cases where not setting permissions correctly to that directory results in malfunctioning charts.
