Reportng over 'relates to' field types

I have created a field that defines a commercial relationship (customner of) in the same way that the member of field works in the Accounts module.

Now I need to report over this field (and the member of field) but this doesn't seem possible.

Can this type of 'relates to' field be reported over? And if so how?

It would also be useful to report over the system fields that are setup this way (such as 'member of' & 'reports to') so that you could create company organisation reports easily.
