    Smile Role and Team

    Hi everyone,
I'm using Sugar 5.2.0i and I see that It's wonderful. But I don't know how to work with role and team for suitable with my company role.
    ---------------------------
I use TASK module for example :
A CEO can see all tasks of employees, A Sale manager can see and assign task for all Sale Agents, A technical Manager can see and assign task for Techinical Agents.
Techincal Agents can see their tasks together but they can't see Technical Manager, Sale Department and CEO's tasks.
Sales Agent can see their tasks together but they can't see Sale Manager, Technical Department and CEO's tasks.
    -----------------------------

I use Security Suite with Role group but the Agents can see their Manager's task because the belongs to same group. If they aren't belong to same group , they can't see other owner tasks
I also try to use Team CE but I see that It doesn't have relationship with Role.
Please give me some helps and suggestions.
    Best regards,
    Huu Hien

With Security Suite you could have a role assigned to the agents with Task set to Owner for View. Then the Manager could be set to Group for Task-View.

There are a few other ways of going about it as well with Security Suite. Hopefully this will get you on your way though.

Yeah, Now I know how to set hierarchy for users . But I don't know how to prevent a user from assigning task to others which aren't belong to his/her group.
Please guide me how to do that ?
And how can we prevent assigned user to edit some of contents of task such as : start date, due date, description, assigned to. We just allow him/her to edit status ...
I think these feature are necessary for task managerment.

There currently isn't a way to prevent a user from assigning a task to another person from within Sugar. Usually that is taken care of from outside of Sugar. If someone reassigns a task when they shouldn't it's a matter of reprimanding the individual. However, I'm looking into finding a way to allow you to specify which groups shouldn't be allowed to reassign to users from other groups.

For the field level access issue, you could create a layout in Studio for that group for edit view that only shows the field that they can edit.

Thank eggsurplus for quick reply . With your idea about field level access, If I create a layout in Studio , the task creator can't edit task if he want to change something . It's better if the task owner can't edit some fields, only the creator can do that.
Furthermore, As I said at my example :
"A CEO can see all tasks of employees, A Sale manager can see and assign task for all Sale Agents, A technical Manager can see and assign task for Techinical Agents.
Techincal Agents can see their tasks together but they can't see Technical Manager, Sale Department and CEO's tasks.
Sales Agent can see their tasks together but they can't see Sale Manager, Technical Department and CEO's tasks".

If I set Technical Manager has group VIew-Edit , he can edit and view Sale Manager's task . If I set Technical Manager has Owner VIew-Edit , he cannot edit and view his Techincal agent task .... Hix, that's my problem. In this case, I must create a new group for only CEO and Sale Manger , that's right ?

Does anyone know if this ever moved forward? This would be a great addition to the software.
