Default rpath won't maintain time, won't set NTP

We're running Sugar community edition on the rpath appliance (Sugar 4.5.1d) on a Windows XP box. The server administration control panel has been showing me that it loses about 45 minutes off the correct time every day. Recently, it has started losing 22 hours off the correct time every day!

I have attemted to synch the time by pointing the NTP setting to our domain server, but the setting will not "take". It says it successfully saved the settings, then reverts right back to the previous setting.

    This is getting ridiculous..........

Which virtualization product are you using? VMware? How is your network configured? DHCP? Does your DHCP server provide NTP server settings?

Yes - we are running VMware and the network is DHCP.

Yesterday afternoon I went in to the ntpd config file directly and changed the server IP to point to our domain server, then changed the system time to the correct time. This morning the system time had advanced about 1 hour - so it was 4:25 pm yesterday! The hwclock on the server was only off by about 5 minutes.

The environment has been running continuously for about 3 months. I'm thinking the next step might be to reboot the whole thing...........
