Cool Save & Publish - Studio

    Hi folks,

Firstly, a primer to my challenge:
A couple of days ago I attempted an upgrade from current SugarOS Version 4.5.0g (Build 1234) to the the latest using the upgrade wizard. After the wizard completed, the index page displayed a server error. My heart sank - fortunately I'd backed up the whole sugar site and database!

So I deleted the online folder structure and mysql database and uploaded the backup files and folders and imported the database. I also needed to change the permissions to a few of folders and files for the crm to function properly.

Now. I am trying to edit the "List View Editor: Projects:Project Tasks"
I just tried to use the studio to add (drag) a field (from the 'available' column) to the 'default' column. When I click 'save & publish' the field I dragged across appears back on the 'available' column. In fact, if I try to rearrange the order of the fields and click 'Save & Publish" it goes back to the original order.

    Why could this be happening?
My hunch is its due to permission of folder or file but which one?

    Thanks.

    Hi,

The easiest way would be to start an upgrade again (without actually executing it) and have a look at the preflight check. This one should telll you which directories aren't writable.

Another option: change the owner of the entire Sugar directory structure to your web user (usually www-data). On this way you are absolutely sure that everyting is writable if it's done through the browser interface. At least that's how I was told (and it works in my case).

Ooops - I assume you run Sugar on a Linux box...

    Hey Rob,

Thanks for replying. You are right to assume the crm is on a hosted linux box.

I'll have a chat with my host to find out how to change the ownership as you suggested. I don't have terminal access - only Plesk.

    Cheers,
