Search Contacts based on Account Information

I don't know if this is possible without some custom programming. We have added a custom field to our accounts which is "Account Status" (Sold, Interested, Dead, etc.) I would like to be able to query contacts based on the Account Status so that I can create two target lists for campaigns (One for sold accounts, and the other for everyone else). Can someone tell me if this is possible. We are using Sugar 5.2.0 CE. Thanks in advance.

I have a similar need - I have added a field to describe the account as as customer, prospect, supplier etc. and then want to query / select contacts from those accounts who have a specific type (ie. customer). Do I need to create a ghost field in the contact record that reveals the account type field? or do I need to create a separate type field in contacts and migrate this information through a data export/import to the contact type field, or is there a way to generate a report that combines the account and contact data?

My goal is to be able to ultimately perform email and mail merge activities against contacts with a specfic account type...

What you are looking for is supported by the reports module in Sugar Professional. That will allow you to create a reports that selects those contacts and then use that report to populate the target list.
