Search contacts relation

Hey, I hope someone can help me. I'm totally confused.

I created a custom module for our repairs. I have a relation to the contacts module.
Everything works fine so far, except the search for contacts in the repair module.

If I select the contact from the popup window the name appears in the field, how it should.
But if I search for it, no data will be found.

But if I enter two or three characters (e.g. xx or slt.) and a space in front of the name the search works.

How can I get the search working with just the name without placing manually 2 characters in front of the name. I already tried 100 of things and spent hours on it. But maybe I'm blind.

Please help me asap. I want to get it working this week.

Is it a bug, or is there a way to get this fixed programmatically?

It's the last problem to fix for me, to start this system.

I'm able to recreate the problem and I'm using SugarCRM CE 6.4.0 RC2. Still investigating the issue and will hope to have something soon.
