Search fields not changing

Let's start with the usual: I'm running Sugar 5.2.0a, on Ubuntu 8.10, Apache 2.2.9, MySQL 5.0.67.

The search layout under Cases was, at one point, set up so that all the fields in Cases were there-and we added a lot of custom fields.

Well, I changed that-but it's still showing all the custom fields, even though the search view in Studio looks different, and the code under sugarroot/custom/modules/Cases/metadata only shows the fields I want.

It doesn't appear to be related to caching, either.

Any suggestions?

That did not work, nor did I expect it to.

I think I need to include a screenshot so as to make the exact problem I am having a bit clearer. I'll do that as soon as I can.

Sorry it took me so long to get back to this-I was working on other things.

We have a lot of custom fields.

All of the custom fields were showing up in the case list view. Attempts to change that via studio, and via alteration of the actual code, were not been successful. Clearing the cache didn't help, either.

So I was stuck-until I looked over the code again, and realized I'd made a mistake. That solved that.

I still don't know why studio didn't work, but that burps sometimes, so I'm not going to sweat it too much.

Well, the problem is solved now, but I tried what you suggested, and it didn't work.

Going into the code worked, after I removed the extra // that should not have been there.

make sure you run quick repair and rebuild.

Enable developer mode when doing these kind of things. When everything checks out, disable it again.
