Search by partial account name?

Folks,

I am evaluating Sugar for my workgroup using the community edition, and am trying to figure out a number of things, but one of them is that when we have an account such as: The Whitford Institute and we try to search for it and type in say Whitford, nothing comes back. Is there any way to force the search function to work on partial matches? This is a fairly critical function for our group, as we have thousands of accounts and remembering the exact name of each one is unlikely.

Hello,

the Sugar search area searches for anything that begins with what you type into the search fields. To expand your search, use the % sign. In your example, if you type in %Whitford, this will display a list of any items that begin with Whitford, or that contain Whitford.

Hmm. Sad as it sounds, that isn't going to work for my users. But thanks for your reply.

If this is the only item that is holding you back, the code can be customized to always search using a % sign. If this is something you are interested in, please feel free to contact us.
