searching on email address

Hi

I have a custom module based on the contacts module, I have been asked to add the email address field as a searchable option in the advanced search but it does not appear to be available to me to add, I also cannot see it in the list of fields.

Any ideas how I can add the email address field as a searchable option?

Running Version 5.5.1 (Build 1202)

Just installed 6 on a test server and the feature appears to have been included in the new release.

So I am now running Sugar Community Edition 6.1 beta and the email address search still doesn't work, this is a simple contacts module, the email address field can be added as a searchable item but it just does not work. This is a pretty basic requirement, why doesn't it work?

man i just tried it on sugar 6 ent edition also, it doesn't work!

It seems really strange to me that this feature not only wasn't included in earlier versions but now doesn't work in their latest version, surely as a sales/marketing ONLINE contact management system email address searching should have been in place right from the start. I'm being asked to look for alternatives to Sugar as this has now become a major issue for us...

I'm also surprised that no one else has reported this issue on here, are we the only ones experiencing it?

man, it's sugar, you are supposed to expect these kind of things and deal with them yourself ... sad but true
