Default Security problem for the group user

    Dear PALS,

Thanks for you all, for giving suggestion and help on this great product.

I am using SugarCRM community edition Version 5.0.0RC .

I created a different group with different users on department basis. I am facing a problem with security. Actually the manager of the department has the right to see the details of all users, and users cannot see the details of the manager and each other. But now everyone can see all the data of all users. That means Employee1 can see the data of manager and Employee2 can see Employee 1's data. :-(

The same problem for different department also. Department 1 can see all the details of Department 2 and vice versa.

Please help for resolving this issue.

I am really thankful for all of you.

    Thanks in advance
    Rasha

    Hi there,

First off, I'd highly recommend that you move to a released version of Sugar. 5.0RC was a Release Candidate and was never meant for production use. You can download the latest released version of the software on the Downloads page of SugarForge.org.

Second, Sugar Community Edition does not have the teams feature you're looking for built into the product. It's available in the Professional and Enterprise editions of the product. There are Community projects (and this one in particular) that are going to build this functionality for the Community Edition; I would recommend keeping an eye on this forum thread to see how they're progressing, or you can upgrade to Sugar Professional or Enterprise to get the functionality today.
