Same problem for me - config is all set for smtp.gmail.com and I have tried port 465 and 587.
Seems this is an OLD problem experienced by many users. There must be a solution for leveraging gmail accounts with SugarCRM!

I have configure Email Settings many times. And SugarCRM always works with gmail.
