    Default Send Error when sending email

    We've been sending individual emails for a couple of years and suddenly, in the last couple of days, I find each message flagged "Send Error" after I've sent it.

    We're using sendmail as a setting.

    We haven't changed anything
    Oh, and using v4.0.1

    Please inform us of the rest of the environment.

    What version of Linux, as well as any other error logs.

    You might want to check and see if you previously had your sendmail configured to send via another host?

    Hi ultranet07!

    Please let us know if it is your own server or you use hosting server.
    If you use hosting server. It is possible that your hosting provider changed selinux settings and now user apache can't use sendmail.

    please try to receive any emails using sugar.

    We need more information.

    Sorry for taking so long to get back with the answers:
    Sugar version: 4.0.1
    PHP v4.4.7
    MySQL 4.1.21-standard
    Linux server at BuyHTTP (host) www.buyhttp.com. Not sure what flavour of Linux, sorry, maybe Centos?

    Support email today from BuyHTTP. The settings they have used are for SMTP obviously:
    It seems to be a problem with sugarcrm, i installed Joomla in a subfolder and was able to use the following settings with no problem.

    STMP User: test@pault.kiwischools.co.nz
    SMTP Pass: test
    SMTP Host: localhost

    Your files might be corrupted, try reuploading all files to overwrite existing files or create a new installation an import the database.


    I had already tried these SMTP settings:
    STMP User: paulstuart
    SMTP Pass: xxxxx (Can supply off forum if required)
    SMTP Host: mail.orcon.net.nz and smtp.orcon.net.nz

    You have it configured backwards. Set the Admin Mail Transfer Agent to SMTP, with all the required info, then set the My Account Outbound Email to sendmail.

    That worked for me.

    It doesnt matter what type of email transport you use (sendmail,SMTP), the system will not send an email, and worse yet it doesnt report back that there was an error ...

    This occurred after creating an email signature and trying to use it on all emails. Setting the 'My Account' options back to NOT use a signature does not rectify the problem.

    Running diagnostics, if get the only clue to this error;
    "Mon Nov 20 20:35:35 2006,312 [20435] FATAL SugarCRM - Error emailing:The following From address failed: =?ISO-8859-1?Q?peter=5Fbrown=40flyingcowdesign=2Ecom?="

    Here are my system settings.

    MYACCOUNT EMAIL OPTIONS;
    Email address: peter_brown@flyingcowdesign.com
    Other email address:
    Reply-to name: Peter Brown
    Reply-to address: peter_brown@flyingcowdesign.com
    Signature:
    Signature above reply?: No
    Show email counts?: No
    Email client: System Default Mail Client
    Compose format: Default Email Format Outbound Character Set: ISO-8859-1

    ADMIN
    Mail Transfer Agent: sendmail

    Its bad enough that we cannot send any emails out. It is worse that for days we have been thinking all emails have been going out as there have been no direct errors reported on send. If there is a FATAL send failure it should be reported immediately to the user and not hidden away in the log.

    You may want to check your log a little more often than you thought to see whats happening and not being reported back.
    I appreciate anyone looking into this matter. ANY help would be appreciated.

    The signature has, most likely, nothing to do with it.
    You have it configured backwards. Set the Admin Mail Transfer Agent to SMTP, with all the required info, then set the My Account Outbound Email to sendmail.


    That ought to fix things.
