Sending Emails Outside the organization using Sugar CE

I have a database of over 500 customers and about 10 users. While users and myself can easily send emails to each other external email to customers never go; they all fail. What is it that I have not set? Kindly help.
I am still new in using Sugar CRM.

Are you using SMTP or sendmail? If it is sendmail change to SMTP, otherwise check your SMTP settings and give more information about your environment please.

Thanks for your quick response.
I am using SMTP and I have always set it as such. I have also indicated the IPaddress of the exchange server I am using. I have also indicated the port as 25 but left Use SMTP Authentication and Enable SMTP over SSL blank. The entire email settings are as per the word attachment below.

Seems as if your exchange server doesn't relay your emails to the outside world. You may consult an exchange guy because the Sugar settings look ok. Proof is that you can send emails internally.
Sorry that I can't be of any further help, Exchange isn't my topic really.

Hi rwanjala,

Check Use SMTP Authentication? and also check Enable SMTP over SSL
along with that provide any gmail account details or the web account where the mail server is configured.

Example :
1)For Gmail Account :
SMTP Username : abc@gmail.com
SMTP Password : XXXX:

2)Other Account:
SMTP Username : abc@xyz.com
SMTP Password : XXXX

Unchecking Use SMTP Authentication? really is a security threat and many mail servers don't allow or say black list these servers for further any communication.


It's really simple, just give it a go and you will surely get it.
