Serious error when deploying custom module

Hi,

I am currently editing a custom module that is based on the File template, the problem arises when I try to add the uploadfile field as required and then try to deploy the package. When trying to do so I get the following error dialog:

"An error has occured during deploy process, you package may not have installed correctly."

I tried running quick repair several times with no luck... what can it be?.

This may seem unrelated, although it actually is, but do you have any problems accessing the Module Loader?

I ran into the same thing on an install that had references to modules that were missing the respective files from /cache/upload. I ended up manually clearing the Module Loader listing by manipulating the upgrade_history table and then my deploy errors went away in module builder.

Also, for some reason, the path to the file appeared with a double slash... perhaps that is where the problem started.

Cool, glad to hear it fixed it. Thanks for closing the loop as well. I had suggested the fix to someone else before, but never heard back so I was left wondering if it was just a weird coincidence in my case or if the suggestion actually helped. Now I know.

Hi again,

Sadly I stumbled upon the same error while using the module editor (tried renaming a module, deleting a module), and this time I couldn't recover from the error.

I used SugarCRM a couple of years ago, and while I was getting some errors also, they weren't this bad, I mean, this is out of the box functionality, it should not fail this misserably.

We are now moving from SugarCRM to a custom implementation using Symfony. I'm never going to use SugarCRM again (unless it gains some actual quality). We could have lost our client.

It is interesting that rarely -- if ever -- does anyone ever acknowledge that no software is perfect, yet at the same time, those same people are convinced they know how to make the perfect solution.
