Default Showing Contacts only to Admin and Assigned User

Heyas. I'm new to Sugar and I'm trying to set it up so that only the assigned/creating account can have access to a particular Contact, but I have been unable to figure out how to do that. Is this possible with Sugar?

    Thanks.

    Hello JustJon,

In order to do this, you just need to create a Role. You can create roles in the admin area under 'Role Management'. For the Contacts module, you can set the Delete, Edit, List, View to 'Owner'. The owner is the Assign to user OR if this field is not populated, then the owner is the created by user. Once you create this role, assign users to the role. This will mean that they will only have access to view and modify Contact records that are assigned to them (you can set this for other modules as well)

By default, a user with admin rights can view ALL records in the system, regardless of roles.
