    Default Showing Information to Specific Teams

    Hi There

    This is probably a really stupid issue, but it just doesn't seem very "in your face".

    I have multiple business units which will be utilising Sugar, however each business unit will have different information they wish to track within sugar.

    Obviously I would create a module with a relationship back to an account, so it is all interconnected. However how can I essentially "hide" different modules from different teams?

    On another note, is it possible to hide certain sections in the accounts module from different teams (rather than have the extra info in another tab).

    Hi,

    Yes you can implement such functionality.

    You can restrict access to specific modules to specific users using Role Management.

    As you have mentioned you have team security which means you are using either Professional or Enterprise Edition of SugarCRM, then you have Row level security to hide specific fields in Role Management, OR you can hide panels applying some customizations.

    Excellent - that seems like a good solution.

    However is it possible to be as granular as doing this with panels in a module as well (rather than on the field level)?

    Yes, running pro version here.

    As I said earlier yes, you can hide panel (I prefer that ) but it requires customization.

    Finally back onto the CRM project with my new Sugar build (6.1.0).

    Can you explain the customisations required to be able to hide panels based on users/teams/roles.

    If you have 4 fields that you want to hide from a specific role, put the 4 fields and only those 4 fields into a panel.

    Then use a Role to hide those 4 fields.

    When a user with the role goes to any record, the entire panel will not appear.

    Thanks for that. Yes, that does hide the fields - however can I also hide the actual panel tabs as well?

    The reason I brought it up was because the panel didn't disappear - all the fields went, but the panel titles are still all along the top.
