We have some of the strangest behavior. We have a domain, call it www.abc.com with a few instances of sugar on it, www.abc.com/instance1, www.abc.com/instance2, etc.
It all started when we changed the drop down values for sales stage on one of these instances through custom/include/language/en_us.lang.php. Now we've done this in the past without issue, but we've changed a lot along the way including actual server.
This time, the drop down for that site appeared to keep reverting back to the original values. I cleared all relevant cache and ensured that the old values existed NOWHERE in the site, yet it still kept switching back and forth between old and new values.
Now I thought this was only the one site as it's never been brought to my attention for any others, but now someone pointed out that another of the instances is doing the same, almost like the 2 are sometimes reading each others language files (the other site, never changed, sometimes shows the new values we put in the other).
How is this possible?
I can give more server info if requested, in general it's Ubuntu with Apache, PHP5, Mysql5, and APC caching.
This may have been happening all along between other instances on the domain and we just did not notice it, or it might be isolated. We've tried patches to the latest (4.5.1x) version, clearing cache over and over, nothing seems to work.
Thanks.
