Default Slashes in Dropdown Names clobber custom language file

    Steps to reproduce:
    1. Go to Admin --> Studio --> Edit Dropdowns --> Create a Dropdown
    2. Enter in a name for the dropdown and be sure to include a slash. For Example:

    Cat / Dog

    3. Then Save.
    4. Click on the Continue Studio Wizard link. You will see a bunch of warning messages at the top of the browser because your language file was just clobbered.

As a result, you lost ALL your previously saved custom drop down fields.

This exact issue is entered twice in Bug Tracker, one has been open, status "new" for 7 months, the other is "resolved" with no notes at all about the resolution (thanks a lot). Anyone know a fix for this?

    Just some notes:

    1) This is still a problem a full year later.

    2) How to fix: in your sugar install, edit the file custom / include / language / en_us.lang.php and add "<?php" to the beginning and "?>" to the end (without the quotes.)

    3) Here are the bug numbers: #12472 & #9901. Both of those bugs were for sugar version 4 and one of them had a "bandaid" fix with it. I submitted a new bug for version 5: bug #23253
