Default Small business ltd version of sugarCRM?

I have an online lead capture business that sends leads (typically consumers and some businesses) to small local businesses (eg. lawyers, accountants, dentists, etc.) and am considering using sugarCRM to store these leads and route them to small businesses (by territory and vertical) - Each small business would get a "Sales account" to manage the leads routed to them.

Question - Is there a simplified version of simple, basic lead management available (e.g. convert to opportunity, keep a log of interactions, and follow-up date reminders)? These small businesses will get overwhelmed with the views and forms in the default version of sugarCRM.
    - if not, is it easy to customize sugarCRM to simplify it to do just basic lead mgmt?

    Hello,

you can definitely pare down the application to minimize the modules you want to use. The system can also be further customized to pare it down even more, or add any functionality you might need.

Please feel free to contact Ray Stoeckicht at rays@intelestream.net or 888-735-2221 to discuss your needs in more detail. We have helped simplify and customize the system for other clients, so we can suggest a few different options.
Intelestream has a great deal of experience hosting and customizing the SugarCRM application. Our company is made up by former employees of SugarCRM, and together we have over 50 years of experience working with the application. Yes, it is simple enough to remove tabs. Under Admin->Configure Tabs you can remove modules you don't want shown. You can also remove/add fields to any module using Admin->Studio. Hope that helps you get started.
