SMTP email queue

I am having trouble sending a batch of roughly 500 emails out for a campaign. The messages are currently sitting in the queue.

The settings for outbound email are as follows:
save outbound raw emails = no
number of emails sent per batch = 5000 (I switched this from 500)
location of campaign tracking files = user defined --> <path to config.php>
keep copies = yes

One thing I noticed is that no matter what I set the value of "location of campaign tracking files" to, it defaults back to unselected after I save and reload the page.

The SMTP server is running, this is confirmed by sending and recieving emails from another account that goes through that smtp server. One note, I cannot ping the smtp server from the sugar box. It picks up my smtp server address but each packet sent will time out.

I'm on Windows using Mercury SMTP. Sugar is not sending out any
of my emails. Perhaps it schedules send-outs for later?

Hi,

Even though I am repeating myself here: Forget SMTP as send method. I was playing with it for about a week until I finally gave up, installed Postfix and used sendmail. Worked like a charm almost immediately. Under Windows (so I hear) smtp seems to work though.

I do not expect any fix now because with version 5.0 the entire email module will be new.
