Default SMTP Error: Could not connect to SMTP host.

    Hi,

I am still having a problem sending newly composed emails. I can reply to emails and they are sent and received without any problems. Therefore SMTP is setup correctly. It is just when I compose a new email and try to send it.

SugarPHPMailer encountered an error: SMTP Error: Could not connect to SMTP host.

    Any ideas?

    Many thanks.

    Hi maxpower,

verify which email settings are being used when you reply to email that you get in. When you compose new email, there is a dropdown that appears that allows you to select which email settings you want to use to send out your email (this is generally the default outbound email settings, and then any personal settings you may have set up in your email settings within the emails module). Maybe hitting the 'reply to' button is using one setting that is correctly set up, and composing new email is using another that is improperly set up.

Also, have you checked the error logs at all? This might help shed some more light on the issue

Thank you very much. That was the problem.

But how do I set the 2nd acount to be the standard for sending emails? Or can I add setting to the "first" account? I assume the 1st on the list is the email address I add in the user settings, but I dont seem to be able to add any settings re outgoing emails there?

    Cheers,
