    Default sort by geographical location

    Hi all,
we're trying to implement Sugar in our company, and have had a terrible time trying to get sugar to do what we want it to do.

we are trying to set up some email and calling lists, so based on my limited understanding of how sugar works, I go into campaigns, create a campaign. Then I create a target list, but when I try to add contacts, to the list, I can't sort or search by location. I want to add all the contacts we have from one city into a contact list for that city.

Also when I click on the second page of contacts, none of the check boxes or preview popups are available. Am I missing something? This really is frustrating, and making sugar very difficult to use.

I have searched the forums for info on searching, but other than name searches, sugar seems incapable of finding what we want.

Is there an easy way to put all the contacts from one city into a contact list, or is this impossible?

Generate a custom report where the filter is city, then save the report. Make sure that you add the necessary fields to the display of the report. Once you have done this you can add the contents of this report to a target list.

I would have thought that sugar had a more elegant solution than that. I'm becoming more disallusioned with it the more I use it.

Did no one think that we would want to search on something other than name?

Doesn't sugar know it's own export format?

now I have to map every field that I exported on a custom search. this is ridiculous.

OK, I found something else that causes this to be an unusable solution. once I export and import a list, the names are no longer tied to the accounts. This is broken! I suspect that we will not be proceeding with Sugar.

I have exactly the same question, but I am sure that a confirmed developper can change something in a file to change the search parmater of contacts in the target list.
