SQL Script files Linux to Windows

Hi

I am new to sugar and have recently installed Version 5.2.0a (Build 5447) in Windows XP. I have an old backup tape with SQL script file and full directory structure backup for sugar 4.5 from Linux. Is there a way to upload that into my system and if yes How would I do that?

SugarCRM version 5.2 and 4.5 both are different in structure, and behavior so if you want to use 4.5 in your system then you have to install sugarcrm version 4.5

How would I run the SQL script file?. How and where do I backup the SQL databse for sugar in windows xp system?

Hi,

If you want to run you sugarcrm version 4.5 in windows environment then first you have to install sugarcrm version 4.5 through installer of windows with same password of admin or database or any other configuration then you can replace the folder of htdocs / sugarcrm which is in htdocs folder.

In this way you can run your linux backup in windows environment.

Are you able to read the files from the backup file via a Windows machine? If not, you'll first need to take care of that portion of the process and then move the files to the Windows machine through whichever method is most convenient for you.

Once you've got the files on your Windows file system move them to your web root directory and you can then focus on the database part. Get SQLyog (www.webyog.com) or other MySQL admin tool. That should allow you execute to the SQL file you are referencing.

Lastly, modify the config.php file found in the sugar root directory to configure Sugar to connect to your new MySQL server and database.
