    Exclamation Status : Import Failed because the message is already imported or deleted from server

    Hello All !

    I have just implemented Sugar CRM Community Edition 5.0.0c ( 3187) onto a Ubuntu Linux box Apache/2.2.4 (Ubuntu) PHP/5.2.3-1ubuntu6.3 Server.

    And I have configured everything up but the weirdest thing is happening when attempting to "Import" email from the email tab into Sugar, I get an error message saying:

    Code:
    "Status : Import Failed because the message is already imported or deleted from server"
    The message is then deleted from Sugar and the import never happens, this is happening on all email coming in, It did however work when the first deployment was made of the system.

    Firebug isn't showing any issues with scripting.

    Do you have any ideas?

    I have just came across this error. I mistakenly imported an email into the wrong opportunity using the Sugar email clinet. Once I noticed what I did... I deleted the email from the opportunity for which I mistakenly imported the email to.

    Then when I tried to related the email to the correct opportunity I received this same error.

    I am thinking this is a bug since I did delete the email related to the wrong opportunity. I say it is a bug because if you make an error of relating an email to a record, this error is produced thus not allowing you to correct the email relationship.

    I am running SugarCE 5.0.0c

    I have not reported this as a bug although I do believe that someone at sugarCRM should identify if this is the intended operation.

    Hi ozzieuk/cjohnston,
    Once a particular email is imported to the sugar system and then if you try to import the same message again then it will give this error message. OR if the message is deleted from the mail server then it will give oyu this message. Can you tell us what email server are you using and r u using IMAP/POP ?? I believe we can solve this issue.

    cjohnston, for you the issue is diferent. You imported the message and then you deleted the email from opurtunity because you mistakenly created the relationship with wrong opputunity. WHen you deleted this email from oppurtunity you have not ACTUALLY deleted the email. You just deleted the relationship. So email status is not deleted. You said that "Then when I tried to related the email to the correct opportunity I received this same error." Did you try to import the same email again ??Because if you did then it will give you the same error message.

    Yes I deleted the email record under from the opportunity from within the Opportunity module.

    I then went back to the Sugar email client and tried to import the message relating it to the correct opportunity. At this point I received the notice that the message had been deleted or Imported. At this point the error message was true becuase I did import the email and relate it to an opporunity, the wrong one.

    The email was not deleted from the IMAP server and the relationship to another record no longer existed because I had just deleted it (in efforts to relate the email to the correct opportunity)... So the error message was correct in saying that it had been imported although I see no way to relate the email to the correct opportunity....

    I would say this impacts correcting erroneous email relationships. Can this be submitted as a bug?

    We already have a bug for that But there is another way you can build the relationship. On the shortcuts of the email UI there is a "All EMail" link. It shows you all the emails in the sugar system. SEarch for that email and then click on the subect link and there you can build your relationship.

    I'm using 5.0.c and have a possible bug regarding the "relate" feature. it's my understanding that when you right-click on an email in the listing of emails, there should be an option to relate the email to an account or contact. I cannot find this option. Nor can I find a way to relate the email to an account or contact once the message is being viewed.

    Im using a pop server, just upgraded to 5.0.0d 3235 - but am still getting the error.

    Hoping you have the solution.

    ozzieuk,
    create an inbound email account in admin area and and attach it to a group folder and run the cron job. Go through this forum

    Thanks for the reply.

    We dont use a group mailbox as our organisation isnt that big I do however still have the problem using personal mailbox's

    When importing / linking to an account/contact/project I get:

    Message No 1, Status : Import Failed because the message is already imported or deleted from server

    The message is still on the server and it has not been previously imported
