Unhappy Strange Gmail IMAP error! "Communication Failure" Help please!

I am getting this error when trying to setup my Google Apps email. This happens when i try to "Save" the mail account settings.

The system will show "Please wait, saving account settings" for about 5 minutes, and then this error will show.

    What's going on?

Thank you for your help, Sugar heroes! :-)

What happens when you Test Settings? Does it pass?

And have you checked the permissions in your folders here

I was having a similar problem.

I had to add a line to crontab to get the scheduler working properly, but the connection was still failing.

It looks like it was a php problem.

I was on version 5.2.17 if you look at the spec for sugar 6.2 it requests version 5.3.

I upgraded to php 5.3.6 and everything works.

    Good news!

    Hope this helps people out.
