Studio added fields checked required in 6 not working

Hi all,

I added a field in Studio and checked off required. It seems that does nothing but put a red asterisk next to the label because if I don't put a value in it still gets saved. I then put the attribute requred=>true in the edit.view.php. HELP!

Hi,

Are you sure you have chosen a right place to modify the variables to make it required?

Either extend the vardef and make the field required or use displayParams in editviewdefs.php.

P.S. After each extended changes you need to quick repair and rebuild cache.

It seems I found a bug. I duplicated on 2 clean installs. When creating a field if you use an apostrophe in the label name it causes required fields to be ignored and will just save the record. This drove me nuts until I systematically checked everything. Going to look at bug tracker right now.
