Default Studio : creating a link to another module. Picking-up existing information

I am looking for some help with Studio and customization.

In the Project module (and in other modules as well), I would like to add a link to pick-up an existing information. More precisely, when I create a new project, I would like to choose the account to link the project to. Basically, my need is to do the same as with the field 'Account Name' in the Case module (Create case / detailed view)

Is there a standard way to do it ?
Do I have to manually change files ? Where to look ?

    Thanks for your help

    Rgds Bruno

Is my question unclear or does that mean that there is no other possibility than a custom development ?

When creating a new project, I would like to have a field called 'Account' pointing to the account table

Thanks again for any help on that matter

    Regards

Does anyone has answer to this? I am also trying to do something similar and trying to link opportunities to documents.

    Best,

If you add the subpanels, it automatically creates a relationship otherwise you will have to manually edit those files that you want the inheritence.

Question Re: Studio : creating a link to another module. Picking-up existing information

The Task module does what I think people (and me) are asking for in this thread.
I need to know how to create the field in the Task Edit form.

    To find:
    Click on the Activities tab.
On the side menu click "Create Task"
On the right side of the form just under the Status field.
If you click on the drop-down menu it lets you select which module to choose from.
Click on the Select button and a seperate window pops up with a search form for that module.

Question: How is that done? Me want

I understand that the Activities module has a sub-panel under Account.
Is that the link between Account and Tasks? (Account <--> Activities <--> Tasks)
Can this type of field be done with Studio? Or hacking of the PHP files underneath...

Yes. Those examples helped me understand how the sub-panels are added. Thank you for the work you did on those.

So, once we have the relationships built we can then make a multiple dropdown field? Which custom field do I use?

Also, since the select is pulling only one field from the other module does that mean I can setup a one-to-one relationship? or can the many-to-many relationship still be used? If those terms are the same as in MS Access then I assume the many-to-many is used in either case?
