Studio updates not showing up in layout design changes within contacts

I've made numerous small changes in Studio for all of the different layout designs. Now when i try to tweak it, nothing updates. I delete fields, it looks the same. I add fields, looks the same. I move fields around, looks the same. It's as if Sugar is stuck on one snapshot awhile back, and no matter what I do, it's the same. When I return to the studio all of the changes are executed (i.e. if I deleted cell phone field, it's gone within studio but still present in all of the layouts).

This goes for quickcreate, edit, search, list....

All of them look exactly the same, and no matter the change I make in studio nothing updates.

I've tried making changes, logging out, and returning.

Nothing.

I've tried making changes, admin, repair db, returning.

Nothing.

etc....

Please if someone has some advice that would be sweeeeeet!

A secondary issue I'd like to address is copying fields created in one module (contacts) to a second module (*#$% Contacts). Is there an easy way? I tried drag and drop, but that didn't work.

I run the latest updated sugar off faststack 5.1.0...XP, etc..

I'm having similar problems

I dragged the fields I want to show in List View and removed some fields in there as well.

The fields I've removed don't show up (great!) but the ones I've added don't show up either (not so great!)

Any help would be awesome.

I've had the same problem... I've got around it by sometime just moving fields around or even adding a empty panel and doing a "save and deploy" then removing the panel and doing another "save and deploy".

Very very annoying and unproductive...

For the more technically savvy amongst you: There was a message on the German board where (one possible) reason for this behaviour was found: apparently the layoutdefs (editview, detailview) in custom/modules/yourmodule didn't survive the upgrade in good shape. Try to rename one of them and save and deploy then this one again in studio. This may (may!) fix the issue. As always: try it on a cloned version if possible.

It may not do any harm, but I don't see how it will have any effect either. I have just edited the Target List View for the first time and the newly created custom\modules\Prospects\metadata\listviewdefs.php is good (it includes the field that I have added), yet still it is not rendered on the screen. Does anyone know what is the code that displays the list view?

I just fixed this issue myself.

I run a few instances of sugar on my server each instance is unique.

on my "contractor" instance, any time we changed the layout (no matter which view or module) the changes reverted back when 'save' or 'save & published' was clicked.

On my "demo" instance, everything worked fine.

Checked permissions (w2k3). All the directories that are touched when modules are modified and layouts are changed did not have "modify" rights for iusr_<server>. Modified the rights to match my "demo" instance and things work great now
