Community Edition doesn't support Oracle, hence the reason why you don't get the option. Only the Enterprise Edition supports Oracle.

Supposing you finally can customize CE flavour to supports Oracle, you would not be able to upgrade this modified system to a newer version due implemented non-upgrade safe customizations.Originally Posted by Meyer

Yes, that was the way the question was worded, but they also followed it up with the comment that they were not seeing an option to use Oracle at install time, as though they were expecting it to be there by default. Hence the reason why I felt it necessary to clarify the point.
