Sugar 5.0 maintenance plan

After carefully reviewing the open bugs in 5.0, the issues reported here in the forums and the support cases submitted by customers, we have updated our maintenance release plan for 5.0.

We plan to release four patch releases over the next sixty days. The goal is to address all of the top open issues with the Chile release, followed up quickly with the Peru release that will address 5.0 upgrade issues and then follow on with two patch releases (Colombia and Brazil) that will address the remaining open issues.

Please note that all dates are subject to change. We will notify you in this thread if the dates do need to change.

Maintenance Plan Overview


The next patch, 5.0.0c (Chile), is on schedule and will be available this week. The patch will include bug fixes for core CRM and non-upgrade-related issues. Here is the list of bugs planned for this release.
Update: 5.0.0c is now available as of April 10, 2008.

The following patch, 5.0.0d (Peru),will address only upgrade-related issues, and will be available as early as two weeks from now. Here is the list of bugs planned for this release.
Update: 5.0.0d is now available as of April 28, 2008.

The Colombia patch is scheduled for the first week of May, and will address issues in important core CRM features, such as Emails and Studio. Here is the list of bugs planned for this release.
Update: The Colombia patch (targeted as 5.0.0e) is planned to be available the week of May 19, 2008.

While the Brazil patch has been scheduled, no bugs have been assigned to this release yet. We will plan the content of this release as we get closer to that timeframe. Here is the list of bugs planned for this release.
Update: The Brazil patch (targeted as 5.0.0f) is planned to be available at the end of June, 2008.

Hi, is it possible to get a manifest of those files affected by the various patch releases? My sugar is far from upgrade safe and I could use some advance warning!

Two ways of getting to that information.

One is to unzip the files in the 5.0.0 patch C zip file. However that will show you everything that changed from 5.0.0 GA to 5.0.0c as our patches are cumulative.

The second way is to diff the files.md5 file between patch B and patch C. That file contains a manifest of all files shipped in the release including the md5 of the file.

Is the patch 5.0.0d scheduled to come out soon? It's said to be scheduled to 21/4 but its now 22/4...any ideas when it will arrive?

That happened with the C patch too. It seems that it's not the exact day, but the week that starts on monday the 21st.

We are still working on the last few bugs. We expect to release the patch this week.
