Sugar 5.0 and voiceRD Integration

Hi,

We have recently installed sugar 5.0 Community edition in our server to replace our old database system. We are working in a computer service industry where we have to make phone calls to our contact list and follow a certain workflow (1st call, 2nd call, etc.).

We have our own Asterisk PBX system which is up and running and we are looking for a software that can help our agents to work more efficiently during their calls. Specifically, we need a software that can do call-logging, predictive dialing, creating notes/scheduling/tasks while calling, etc.

We have checked out the voiceRD Asterisk integration which perfectly suits our needs. However, this integration only works with sugar 4.5.1 and we want to keep sugar 5.0 cos it has more functionalities than sugar 4.5.1.

What we are wondering is:
1) Can i install voiceRD in sugar 4.5.1 first and then upgrade it to sugar 5.0? Will it work properly?
2) Are there any other alternatives that are similar to voiceRD that works with sugar 5.0? (Preferably, open source)

We would be really glad to hear your suggestions and share your experience with sugar.
Any suggestions are very much welcomed.

I'm sorry I cannot answer more precisely, but I can suggest you to:
a) look at http://www.sugarforge.org/softwarema...p?form_cat=345 for a list of all telephony integration modules
b) search for "Asterisk" in this forum: you'll find out many other users tried to integrate it with Sugar 5, and some of them eventually made it.

It didn't get much response and we're not yet in production with Sugar, so I did some (very risky) experiments to try to get it to work in 5.0 and broke Sugar. See the thread for details of what NOT to do.

I also never found any Forum posts that said they got it working in 5.0 as Dragonflymaster references, but I haven't searched recently.

Clint referred me to the maker in the original thread.

It's my fault, I'm sorry .
I should have said "some of them probably made it" instead of "some of them eventually made it".
This is one of my many mistakes: thinking italian while writing english.

Great News! I couldn't find the version for 5.0 in my quick searches. Is it a CE version? Can you post a link?

I haven't tried that yet, but from what I read on the latest release page, it seems to have some issues with install

Known Issues: Install fails to update database correctly. In order for patch to function, manual database update is required. SQL commands can be found in /scripts/asterisk_int.sql file. Alternatively, administrators may go to "Administrator Configuration"->repair->"Repair Database" and execute sql code provided by sugar to match database with vardefs file.

Also, take a look at VoiceRD project's forum.

Thanks for the links.

The problems on the latest release page look easy to overcome, so I plan to try this hopefully soon. I'm on another project at the moment, so it won't be today, but I'll try to steal some time for it soon.
