Hello
I found a strange behavior with the “opt out” option for the newsletter campaigns.
What I have is that every time I create a new email for my newsletter campaign, all the leads/contacts/etc/ that already have opted out from that campaign will receive subsequent emails.
I was expecting that when a user selects to opt out on a newsletter campaing:
- Would not receive any other marketing emails from that newsletter campaign
- Would receive emails from other newsletter campaigns and email campaigns
Is this assumption correct? Cause if it is, sugar 5.5.1 is not working like that. The reproduction step are:
1. Created and configured a new newsletter campaign called “Test Newsletter campaign”
2. Created a target list “My targets” of type default with 1 Lead
3. Created a first “Email Marketing” entry called “February” and associated it with a Template email “ My newsletter” that had two paragraphs and the opt out link
4. Sent the email by clicking “Send Emails” and my lead received the email and clicked the opt out link
5. On Sugar, went to the “View Status” screen and checked that the lead email was added to the “Opted out” box
6. Created an “Email Marketing” entry called “February” and associated it with a Template email “ My newsletter” that had two paragraphs and the opt out link
7. Created the second “Email Marketing” entry called “March ” and associated it with the same template email (ok, I could have created a second email template but since this is just a test I skipped that step)
8. Sent the email by clicking “Send Emails” and my lead received this second email! NOT EXPECTING THIS TO HAPPEN!!
Anyone can help me figuring what am i missing here?
Thanks in advance
