on Sugar 5 CE, how do you associate prospect with a product/sevice?

Using v.5.o.f Community Edition on Linux(CENTOS 5), APache 2, PHP 5, MySQL 5

1 - I want to have certain prospects associated with certain products. In other words, a restaurant owner is going to a prospect for only ONE product, not all my products. In ACT 2005, I organized the prospects into groups like, "Interested in Product XYZ." How do I associate prospects around a certain product or how to groups them?

2 - I want to import a few hundred leads/prospects into SUgarCRM 5 CE and have them automatically associated with a product or group. How would I do that?

You could simply create a custom field with all your products in it and make it a dropdown or a multiselect. Or maybe you could create a new module with ModuleBuilder for your products and then relate it to prospects.

Yes, if you create a field in opportunities that is named the same and has all the same attributes then the data will be written to that field during a convert lead.
