Default Sugar 6.1.4 - E-mail field not showing on some workstations

    Hello there

We have recently upgraded Sugar from version 5.2 to version 6.1.4.

Since the upgrade, many users are having the following issue:

When editing a module with email fields, the email doesn't appear on the screen.

If they click on "Save", the e-mail address of that lead, contact, etc is removed.

The email field doesn't appear when creating a new contact (or lead, or any module with email fields) either, so it is not possible to insert its email address.

The issue has been identified in the following browsers:
    • Internet Explorer 9
    • Mozilla Firefox 4.0.1
    • Google Chrome 11.0.696.65

I've found that this is a known issue of IE 9, and the following solution has been provided in previous forums: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/956197

For Firefox and Chrome, we've found that the issue occurs in some workstations only, i.e. some workstations with the same version of Firefox and Chrome do not have the issue.

    Any suggestions?
    or
Any ideas of why this behaviour is occurring?

Both Firefox 4 and IE 9 are not supported at this time, see here: http://www.sugarcrm.com/crm/products...platforms.html

I would focus on Chrome as that's the only supported browser of the three that you've mentioned you are using. See if you can get further clues using only that browser.

    It's a bug from a wrong 6.0 editviewdefs.php and detailviewdefs.php.

Move your editviewdefs.php away and create the editview new in the studio. The email should appear again.

Thanks Angel, it seems that we are gonna have to downgrade browsers for everybody!
