I know that there are a number of forum posts about this - I have just spend 3 hours reading every related post I can find back to 2005 - but none of them have provided a full answer. More noticably - many of them have no answers at all.
To properly handle both B2B and B2C CRM an application needs to recognise that both Companies (Accounts) and Individuals (Contacts?) need to be dealt with.
We deal with both - from companies with 5000 employees to private individuals. During testing and evaluation we have no problems dealing with the companies or their employees but dealing with individuals is a nightmare.
The only way to handle it appears to be to create both an account and a contact for each individual and to use the account to track all contact with the individual - but this is clumsy and inefficient.
We do not want to invest in a product and then need to move to a different platfrom during the next year or two and so are looking for some clarity on the question:
Will Sugar be implementing this type of functionality (the ability to deal with cases, emails, campaigns, telephone calls, etc directly with individuals instead of only with accounts) in the future or is Sugar's aim to be purely a B2B tool?
If I am asking this question in the incorrect forum or place then please advise and accept my apologies.
Thanks
