Sugar Community Edition all jumbled up after fresh install

We just installed Sugar CRM Community Edition 6.3.0rc1 to our web server. That part went smooth as our hosting company was kind enough to give us a hand.
I have now logged in for the first time and it appears that this thing is an utter mess. It looks nothing like one would expect. I am unsure as where to begin in trying to figure out how to fix this problem. Its like there is no format and all fields are just all over the place. Any ideas on what I can do. to fix this? Here is a screen shot to give you an idea of what I am looking at. I would love to get this up and running as Sugar CRM seems like a great product, but honestly I figured it would work more or less right out of the box.

I had similar problems and checked out the blog you linked and several other posts within this forum. I'm using install sugar CE 6.3 and permissions were definitely the issue with me, but now I'm facing another issue where images are appearing as broken links.
I've tried viewing the files that were installed in my directories and they look broken. I tried replacing company logo also and it seems it's not showing up either. I also can't figure out where to download images to override what is in the install package.
What I can't find is 1)how can i replace the broken images in the directories and 2)instructions on how to install a theme.
any help would be really appreciated!!

Installation of new theme packages is very easy:
- upload and install the package with Module Loader

Now the theme should be available for usage, admin->System->Themes should show the new theme as "enabled" (and you could set it as default here). Each user can select the new theme in the user settings tab "Themes".

Regarding the picture files:
Hard to believe that only the picture files are corrupt after installation. No error messages during the installation process? I'd think that there are still some problems with access rights and owner settings (maybe not set recursively?).
Are you sure the access rights / owner settings are ok? If yes you could take the files from the installation package (unzipped in a temporary directory) which should be ok and copy them to replace the corrupt files.

Appreciate the info on updating a theme, it was not intuitive at all using the admin dash.

I've made sure all files and all folders have permissions 755. I checked the images in the directory folders and they all show up as corrupt broken imgs. not sure if this was directly from the zip install or what happened, but no imgs are intact. Only thing I haven't done is unzip the install on my local drive on my computer to double check the imgs. I'll do that now.

Not sure how to figure out how to replace the images all together, but I'll try to update the theme and hope that takes care of it.

hi Stefan - looks like, for the version I'm using, there are no themes compatible ... Sugar: 6.3.0RC1.
I tried installing 'modern aqua' that i found, as you suggested through the module loader, but only got an error. is there a trick to being able to load it?

If you update files in themes/<themename>-directory: remove cache/themes/<themename>. This ensures that Sugar copies the new files from themes-directory into the cache and uses them.

Another important image directory is include/images.

Does the Modern Aqua theme work with SugarCRM CE version 6.3.0 RC?

If so what is the best way to install it? Through the module loader?
