I believe I have figured out my Email Deletion problem along with many other email issues; such as moving emails and directory creation. This is a repost from another thread. If you are using SugarCRM with a MS Exchange Server then you want to read this message. In summary, you need to set your Users' IMAP Exchange Settings to use the Unicode (UTF-8) character set.
Please see the attached GIF file while reading this email.
At this point, you should see the windows in the attached image.
- In order to change the IMAP settings within Exchange, you'll need to log into your exchange server.
- Go to the Active Directory Users and Computers.
- Find your Domain then the Users
- Once you see your user(s), right click and select Properties for a user.
- Click on the Exchange Features Tab
- Click on IMAP4 (or IMAP)
- Click on Properties to bring open the IMAP4 settings.
I hope this helps others with some of the email problems. You'll need to adjust these settings for each one of your users that is using Sugar CRM.
- Uncheck the "use protocol defaults".
- Check Both for Mime encoding; or use HTML - it's your choice.
- Change the default character set from "Western European 8859-1" to "Unicode UTF-8". The Sugar CRM system uses UTF-8 encoding. Correct me if I'm wrong. This change fixed many of my IMAP email issues.
- Uncheck "Use Microsoft Exchange rich-text format"
- Check "Enable fast message retrieval"
- Uncheck "Include all public folders when a folder list is requested". This particular setting can cause serious issues if you have a large Public Folders section of Exchange.
Cheers,
Jeff Walters
