Sugar CRM install Cpanel help!!!!

Hi im new to sugar crm, im installing it on a cpanel enviroment , the version of crm im installing is sugarcrm-5.2.0c, im getting the following problem.

Could not connect to server localhost as root. port . Access denied for user 'root'@'localhost' (using password: YES)

please help what can i do

Make sure your password for DB root user is set correctly.

the password should be yes ...correct ?

i think the problem is that it prenames all my users as "sitename_root" could this be changed in sugar ? so it matches

So you can just give the DB user name as sitename_root and proceed with the installation.

No im still having the same problem i have tried to set it up in the custom installation and still having the same problem , is there someone out there that can help me ? i really need a bail out......

Getting a similar error. Got the correct Database and username. Deleted and recreated username and db just to be sure. Still get a 1045 error. On localhost, cpanel MySQL (MySQLi detected)

I just finished doing two SugarCRM installations using cPanel myself. The real question is, which script are you using?

In my case, what I did was the following:

Go to cPanel->MySQL Database
Create a new database user. I called mine <username>_crmdb and gave it full rights.

Go back to the SugarCRM script. When prompted for user, don't use root. Instead use the username and password you setup above.
