Has any one successfully loaded Sugar CRM on Solaris open source 10
I don't know how much info there is on this topic, but I remeber someone posting a thread about them doing it on Solaris, but some time back.
As long as you can get it on a web server that supports PHP and MySQL, there should be no reason why it wouldn't work.

But what about the install -- the install automatically chooses certian directories and solaris's direcrtory structure is not necassarily the same as wth most distros of Linus
Those directory selections would be based on your Apache/PHP/MySQL configuration settings, thus, assuming you have those three talking to each other properly, you should be OK.

How does one check this - the install is straight forward with Linux - by running ./sugarinstallfile.bin
You cannot just run this file on Solaris.
So what should the configuration settings be for these 3 services running such that they talk to each other?
Thanks in advance
Ah....more details..
I tend not to install using the pre-packaged stacks on Sugar's site. I usually just grab the zip file with the program files and drop them into my web server's htdocs/wwwroot folder. Hence my earlier comment that if you have Apache/PHP/MySQL talking to each other already, there shouldn't be a need to tweak settings.
If you want to use a bundled stack, my preference is for XAMPP. They even have a Solaris port here: http://www.apachefriends.org/en/xampp-solaris.html
I've used that stack successfully on windows, linux and mac.
Once you get that installed, all you have to do is drop the Sugar program files into a folder under htdocs, pull up your browswer and walk through the install.
