Exclamation Sugar CRM UI does not work

I installed latest beta version in my server. I am first time user. I came across many issues and fixed by googling. But this one is strange.

Sales Marketing Support Activities Collaboration All

None of these links top menu works. If clicked it just adds # by end of url.

Sales's Sub menus are open. If clicked, it shows:

    Please help me solve it.
    Thanks in advance.

The likely culprit is either permissions, as described here: Angel's Blog: SugarCRM Troubleshooting: Formatting Woes

Or the version of PHP you are using may be incompatible, although I am almost positive it is a permissions issue.

I downloaded a PHP File that fixes the permission when I had the screen like what you showed me in link. But after that, still menus do not work and data is not shown. Can you help?

you need to go in and change cache permissions, this gives a outline of the problem and solution, forum moderator blog Angel's Blog: SugarCRM Troubleshooting: Formatting Woes

It's also possible that if you are having this problem from a softaculous script then when doing the install you set it up as a secure server application (https instead of http), using a shared certificate, but are accessing it using the http method.

If so then you probably came about this method because you discovered that https access didn't work for you after doing the https install. Here's why: you can not simply add https to the front of your domain name to get secure access if using a shared certificate (you need to install your own SSL certificate to do that - your webhost will lease one to you for a small fee). To use the shared certificate (instead of installing your own) you must access SugarCRM using https://[webhostSecureServerName].com/~[yourUsername]/[SugarCrmDirectory]. Accessing SugarCRM using http protocols with your own domain name does not take advantage of the SSL certificate (and note that a shared certificate is just as secure as your own certificate ... it's just nice to have your own because then you can use your own domain name).

If this matches your scenario, you will still need to fix the filefolder permissions as mentioned in the other comments of this thread, but if that's a problem then this may also be a problem as well. I believe all this is related to the softaculous script.

SugarCRM developers: It's a great thing to have that softaculous script because it allows SugarCRM to reach a much larger audience but SugarCRM should modify that script so that upon install, if the administrator selects "https" method of install then it prompts them for the SSL server hostname (the ecommerce softaculous script does this), then modifies the SugarCRM/index.php so that if the server is the http method it does a URL redirection to the secure server. Softaculous can help you make this change ... maybe will even do it for you.
