Thumbs down Disillusioned with Sugar Email Cleint (and the replys to this thread)

    Very frustrated!

While Sugar is very good at some things it seems to lack some very basic functionality.

One thing that is really starting to get on our nerves is when we forward an email it doesnt include the email in the fowarded message... it does in the edit prior to sending it, but the receiver doesnt get the forwarded message! Stupid!

No folders for emails, very annoying.

Different users emails are accessable to all users, no privacy.

And a host of other problems, I know this gets bought up from time to time, and I thought we could manage without these items, but it is effecting our day to day operations.

I suppose our main immeidate complaint is the email forwarding, is there a solution to this?

Can someone from the sugar team please let us know what is happening with the email system? Might I suggest that is it important to get it fixed sooner rather than later?

I look forward to a reply.

Edit: Please disregard the childish posts below, I am attempting to find out some useful information in order to prevent our organisation from moving away from Sugar due to its email system. I have read on the forums some talk about gmail, has this gone any further?

    Hi mate,

Firstoff, my comments are my own personally and I am NOT part of nor related to SugarCRM or the SugarTeam..

    Can I make an assumption?
I'll make an asusmption, at least until corrected should I be wrong..
My assumption is that you're using SugarCRM OPEN SOURCE.. Right?

That same SugarCRM Open Source of which is FREE, and COST LESS..

    What's the complaint again?
I'm sorry, more tactfully, what's the 'feature' request?

You so politely, threatened to 'change systems', please DO would be my 'personal' response.

    --

Now in explanation of my above 'post'.

I' hope that you're not an organization/company/business ( the only REAL users & uses of SugarCRM) in which expects something for nothing.

So, in using the OS version, having NOT paid anything whatsoever for the very powerful, useful, & beneficial product (SugarCRM) in which you are using, you should not only be more than open to, but EAGER to spendand/or pay for something on Sugar.

My suggestions is that you REPOST in the 'Classifieds' section of the forums, in which you HIRE & PAY FOR a develope that add the necessary functionality to Sugar in which you desire; OR, you pay for & purchase SugaCRM from the SugarTeam..

And should you do the later, then as a customer my advice is stick with your original post with more emphasis..

I'm quite a proponent of the 'FIX IT or ADD THIS, or I'm gone and I'll give someone else my money rather than you" attitude..

A prosperus company is one that complies with 'demands' of its consumers/customers/clients, and I'm of the belief thus far that SugarCRM is a 'prosperus' company; however, it will take users, clients, and customers such as yourself in order to continusously prove me right.

So the bottom line of this post, is that you need to DIRECT your complaint to whomeever your paying the money to..
And IF you're not PAYING money to anyone, then I personally have little (in actuality, none) respect for as such is a person whom wants something for nothing and I believe in the opposite..

But would it surprise people that I 'tip' others? Tonight, it was $3US I tipped the bartender when I took my brother out, and that was just for two beers.. Or that I tip the employee at the gas station? (usually a few dollars as well)..

Money comes and goes! Money does not come to those whom are greedy, hoard it, or lazy and not willing to earn it.

My two cents, and hopefully the SugarTeam doesn't kick my a$$ for sharing it, as everyone from them to my clients has gotten a dose of my two cents over the past day.. lol

    -Chris

We are very active in the open source community and find most os products to be very good, where possible we use os to support the development of os products and companies.

I am sorry if this offends you as a paying customer.

Oh, and thanks for your helpful reply to, very inspiring. If you dont have anything constructive to say dont post.

So am I to assume from your post that if we had paid for Sugar all of my gripes would be fixed? I doubt it.

We are happy to implement a beta, or alpha stage fix for email and test it and provide feed back, as an open source supporter. However my gripe is a product that doen't function the way it should and we are not being given solutions, we have used it for a while now and I really love sugar, but the email system is just getting under my skin.
    Cheers,

    Leslie

Go figure! My assumptions were correct...
    What 'luck'.

Anyways, this will be my last post in this thread..

I've already made my point in my first post, and personally, I wouldn't have anything to do with your organization or you individually.. Why?

I'm of the 'OPINION' or 'BELIEF' that you believe in something for 'nothing (i.e. free)..
Thank god for the 'net', plenty of things for free.. And you're well entitled to all of'em.
Just please, keep your "compalints" for ELSEWHERE, as you have NO right whatsoever to "COMPLAIN" if you're NOT paying!

And for the RECORD, I personally, am NOT and have NEVER been a 'paying' customer of SugarCRM.
Let me clarify that... I have never PAID ANY MONEY for SugarCRM nor to the SugarTeam!

And rather than be 'shamed' of such, I'm proud of it, why?
My contributions have been and will continually be far greater than that of just a paying user.

As a developer, well, I like to think that I will add some thankful improvement to Sugar..
And as a 'prick; of a forum member, I hope that I encouraged at least one person on this planet to 'PAY' for what they valuably appreciate as well as ultimately makes them money (SugarCRM).

You can crawl back into the cave you came out of for all I care, and should I offend you OR the SugarTeam.. Oh Well is all I have to say...

I've turned away so many clients and so much money to date, that it is unimaginable by others...
You personally are not a customer or client I would ever deal with but that's me, and ultimately, I guess the purpose of my post is that I might have helped you come to a different view or perspective of things in which helps in the future (from here on out), if not, oh well and I'm not apoligizing.

Best of wishes either way mate..

    Man take a chill pill.

My point is simple, Sugar is trying to enter a segment of the market that has alot of competition, I am highlighting (strongly I will admit) a flaw in the system that needs addressing.

Thanks for tarnishing this post to, any chance of getting a real reply has gone out the window.

Please do not respond to my posts, I dont give a fark about your opinions.
    Cheers,

    Leslie

    I wont {bother responding to your posts}!

And why would {anyone else, let alone the SugarTeam} WANT to responnd to someone (spend the time, effort, and work responding) whome doesn't believe in the concept of paying someone for their work!?!?!

Sorry to point out the obvious!

And yes, you are right in your assumptions..!

    P.S.
    I DIDN'T "tarnish" your post!
And YES I agree with you, in that you will doubtfully get a {satisfactory TO YOU} response to your post.

Life sux, eh? You must hate those people whom expose others for whom and what they are, right?

And I am sorry about one thing, and that is I'm sorry that you probably hate me..
Ah well.. Each to their own..
    And my prior comment stands!
Compalin to whom you're paying, OR, rediredct your feature request to whom you're paying!

    OH AND AN ADDENDUM!
MANY PEOPLE SHOULD BE GIVING MANY THANKS FOR THE OPEN SOURCE NATURE OF SUGARCRM INWHICH ALLOWS FOR SUCH CUSTOMIZATION AND/OR DEVELOPEMENT!!!!!

I CAN'T THINK OF ANY OTHER EQUIVALENT PRODUCT OR PROGRAM IN WHICH SUCH !!OPPORTUNITY!! EXISTS!
