Default Sugar Feed Dashlet - my hopes dashed.

    Hey board,

    01.
I'm new to SugarCRM Community edition 5.2, and on page 22 of the User Guide it says I can click on Add Sugar Dashlet, select Tools, and have a sugar feed on my homepage. However, under tools I have Invaders, My Portal, and Jotpad. No feed. I'm the admin and could not find it in user settings. Please advise.

    02.
While I'm here, here's another homepage problem. The guide says I can have a My Portal window to an external link on the homepage. I have made a My Portal to elsewhere which works fine when clicked from the upper tabs, but I can't seem to get it on the homepage.

    Thanks for any advice.

The Sugar user guide was wrong. It says that the admin can enable the Sugar Feed in the Admin area under 'Tools'. There is actually a link called 'Sugar Feed Settings' under the System area. Click on this to enable the Feed and set the settings. Once you do so, go back to the homepage. You will now see that a Sugar Feed dashlet item is available under Tools.

The My Portal dashlet is basically a window to the website you specify. It is not linked to the My Portal module tab. It is not great to access a website from here because it is small and hard to see the whole site. To add it, go to 'Add Sugar Dashlets' --> Tools --> My Portal. Now click on the Edit pencil icon. You can change the title and dashlet size. Under 'website location', enter the URL of the site. Make sure to include the http. Click Save. The dashlet should now display the website

    Hey Sugarcane,

Gotcha, thanks! It's the http part that I left out when trying to edit before. Duh.
