Sugar never works properly - Disappointed User

Hey everyone,

I'm posting this because I'm very disappointed with sugar; I gotta tell you, I have 2 months trying
to make work 2 simple custom modules (they have nothing apart from normal stuff) but that hasn't
been possible, sometimes I think this application hates me because it never works the way you set
it to work, relationship issues, module fields not being show as links, modules not taking changes after
deployment, module tab names not showing, loosing the icons you have put to identify your custom
module items, ...this is none sense!!!

I think Sugar is a very helpful tool to work with but it also becomes an annoying application because
all of this matters, it's like an old car, you have to be fixing and fixing things to make it work properly
but in the end it never works fine, then you have to become your car's slave or buy another to put an
end to those endless issues!!!!

I hope ALL of these problems finally get fixed, so that you can give to yourself a good and better experience
while working with sugar 'cause so far..., ...sometimes not even with help you get things done!!!

Why is that important?

yeah why should the open source core engine should be any different from the pro or enterprise?
I have cracked the power by footer but yet choose to leave the footer intact without all the binary authentications.

There are so many issues with sugar - fields are not string escaped before insertion to the database, etc. The list goes on. Customization is hell.....

Why is that important?

Because sometimes I wonder how people start complaining and moaning about something that´s completely free.
Don´t like it? File a bug, fix it yourself, or simply don´t use it.

Pro+Enterprise versions - whole different story.

I'm sorry to hear you have these issues and I understand how you are frustrated, but please stay with Sugar for a while. The Module Builder is an epoch-making function that is going to change the way a customer lives with a CRM system. It's the very challenging technology, so you may have some issues in the beginning.

As far as I know, most of issues you (and others) have been experienced are already filed as bugs and I believe the Sugar Team is working on them. You will receive a stabler release very shortly.

Hi all, keep the issues coming. The louder you voice them the quicker we respond! Yes, we have several patch "trains" lined up that addresses core issues. I encourage you to review the Bug Tracker periodically to review the list of upcoming changes.

As to CE versus the commercial editions (Professional and Enterprise) and expectation surrounding each edition, know that any given feature common to all stem from the same code. We are committed to providing a high quality product no matter the edition. Sugar commercial customers, of course, benefit from the backing of Sugar itself: a commercial contract, Support, SLAs, accessibility to Professional Services, etc.
