    Default Sugar OnDemand Speed

I have been using sugar Ondemand for several months. One of my major problems is the speed of the program. It is most evident when I update a call record. For example - changing the date of a planned call from today to tomorrow will take at least 20 seconds to process. I have a fast processor and 2 gig of memory. People much smarter than me have made adjustments to IE to enahnce the speed. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

The 3 easiest things to do that do not change functionality are:
1.) Turn on APC or ZendPlatform for an opcode cache.

    Here is an article.
    http://www.sugarcrm.com/wiki/index.p...d_Accelerators

We use APC and it works great except when we hit the limit of memory. Install the apc.php and if your Sugar acts funny run it and you will probably see you need to give APC enough memory.

    2.) Turn on HTTP Compression
    Here is an article
    http://www.sugarcrm.com/wiki/index.p...TP_Compression

3.) Turn on expires headers for all the images, Javascript and css files

We get twice your performance with 256 meg ram in a VPS using the techniques above

OK, Obvoiusly those suggestions are not going to help you with Sugar OnDemand. Do you currently have an open case for this issue? If so can you email me the number at kbrill@sugarcrm.com. If not please open one and mention my name in the description and I will pick it up.

OK, on the the problem. One of the speed issue with Sugar OnDemand is that it runs over HTTPS and there is nothing you can do about that. But 20 seconds for an update is not right. Even on the worst days I get less than 5.

What part of the world are you in? Obviously over seas customers have a slower responce time than US customers. Hopefully that will change soon.

There are tools I can help you install that will give us an idea of where the delay is comming from. I do not know IE as well as I know FireFox. I would assume that there are tools available for IE as well, but if you can load FireFox and then Load these two modules

First FireBug that is availble here: http://www.getfirebug.com/

    and then YSlow available here:
    https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/5369

that will give you some tool to measure perfomance on your connection. For IE the only tool I know of is Fiddler, which is availble here http://www.fiddler2.com/Fiddler2/version.asp
